The fun add-on
Roast My Roll
You get the same full breakdown, with every timestamp, every opening and every drill, but the coach delivers it as a brutally honest roast. The jokes are added on top of the coaching, so you still get everything the standard tone gives you.
“You’re shooting your double leg from too far outside arms-reach. Because you’re initiating the shot without setting it up or closing the distance first, your partner has all the time in the world to see it coming, drop their hips, and sprawl. When you telegraph the entry like that, you lose your penetration power and end up stuck underneath them, leaving your neck completely exposed to a guillotine or a front headlock.”
“You shot that double leg from a mile away like you wanted a hug, not a takedown. By the time your hands touched his knees, he already had time to sprawl, check his watch, and decide whether he wanted to choke you or just let you suffer down there.”
We wrote both examples for this page. Neither one comes from a member’s breakdown.
The same coaching in a different tone
The tone
The coach writes the notes and records the voiceover as a roast, sarcastic and brutally honest. If your guard got passed the same way four times, you’ll hear about it four times, and you’ll remember it the next time you roll.
The coaching
It’s the same coach, the same timestamps and the same openings, with the same homework drills at the end. If you took the jokes out, you’d still have a complete technical breakdown.
We roast your jiu-jitsu, not you
Your positions, decisions and habits are fair game. We won’t joke about your body, your injuries, your belt, or a beginner making beginner mistakes. You can go back to the standard tone on any future breakdown.
Where you can add it
If you’re using one of the breakdowns included in your membership, turn on the roast toggle on the submission form before you send your footage, and that breakdown comes back as a roast.
Submit footageIf you’re buying a single breakdown without a membership, check “make it a Roast” at checkout and it’s added to the same purchase. You don’t sign up for any recurring plan.
Buy On DemandRoast My Roll isn’t available on Legend breakdowns. A review from a grandmaster always comes in the standard tone.
About LegendsWhy it exists
Some people remember a lesson better when it stings a little. Before any breakdown goes public, an admin checks it for accuracy and tone.
